Results – Week ending Saturday 12 November

Saturday saw the return to competitive bowls for the 2021/2022 season after a long delay due to Covid restrictions. New and returning players were back on the green and eager to show what they had.

Division 3 finally got to play on the new home green for the first time against Victoria Bowls club. It was a tight friendly tussle all day but, in the end, Ballan was victorious by 30 shots.

Best rink Rick Sloan, Scott McConnell, Chris Love and David O’Hanlon (s).

Division 7 travelled to close neighbour Bungaree Bowls club for what turned out to be a very close finish. Luckily, Ballan was able to hold on and win by 6 shots.

Best rink – Michael Carey, Fia Kunigiskis, Ken Warwick and Johnny Mullane (a) by 11 shots.

Week ending Saturday 20 November

Division 3 travelled to Webbcona Bowls club for their Round 2 clash. It was such a close game all day that the scores were unable to be separated and a tie was a fair result for all.

Division 7 had their first home game also against Webbcona Bowls club. Ballan got off to a flying start and able to win by 78 shots.

Mid-Week – Tuesday 16 November

The club was able to field a team in the midweek competition for the first time in over eight years. Due to a number of new players especially lady bowlers, Ballan played a home game in Division 4 against Beaufort Bowls club. A great start to the season with both rinks winning. The Jan Conroy rink won by 7 shots and the Brian Dowling rink won by 5 shots.
